employee is not looking for Abstract Results but Physical Results. This is what
made the Peter Principal (being promoted to the highest level of incompetence)
so relevant. A “punch-in punch-out employee is not motivated by the “big
picture.”

Lack of training in today’s market has been trend getting worse. However, our
view of what is essential in generating competency is also a factor. A Knowing
Authentic makes for a poor manager because he or she expects everyone to know their
job as well as they know theirs. The website designer with Design as their
Authentic, will be a master at building websites but know nothing about the
marketability of its content. This lack of knowledge would create conflict with
the Knowing Authentic and raise the issue of incomplete training. Also,
management in general may have the appropriate Authentic to drive the business
but has a blind spot when identifying poorly trained workers. All, of this would
become clear once their identities are made known.
6 Lack of Tools

Competent Management is driven by generating Abstract results, which means they
must transfer the responsibility for Physical Results to someone else. Often
overlooking a physical need is not a matter of neglect but occurs when thinking
is not motivated to meet the specific task.

Sexual harassment cannot be tolerated when it occurs. Unfortunately, defining
when it occurs has become extremely difficult, as it has become so politicized
to the point of distorting any degree of common sense. Personally, I would fail
to identify sexual harassment except for the most obvious.
Be that as it may, most sexual harassment issues on the job occur when two
people are not in tune with the expectations of the other. A Balance Authentic
may engage in risky behavior as part of his or her Rejuvenating Authentic. This
also occurs with Peace Authentics looking for Rejuvenating excitement. A
Connecting Authentic female may give false impressions by being “overly”
friendly. A male reads what is being presented, acts on it and finds himself
brought before the management for possible dismissal. What is needed is for the
Authentic Identities of all concerned be ascertained. When everyone sees the
real motivation of the others, corrective behavior comes naturally.
8 Poor Communication

difference in any business aspiring for financial success and growth.

Supervisors must come from a structured Authentic to be effective in having a
business generate physical results from management and staff members. Abstract
results can easily come from a Process Authentic for example where directing
others is involved.
